Blessing, What Does It Mean?

Throughout many years working as a midwife the word “blessing” is often used to describe being a part of every pregnancy, birth and early parenting care. The experience of a new addition to any family is a pivotal time and it is very important that optimum care delivery is achieved to maximise this life changing experience for woman and their families.

Words in closest connotation to “blessing” could be gifted, fortunate and “privileged”.

Privileged is a feeling experienced daily working with families from early pregnancy through to the first 6 weeks of parenting. The core values of blessing midwifery service are to provide:

  • Continuity of care

  • Delivery of evidence based, woman centred collaborative care in the community

  • Commitment to education enabling informed choice to empower women.

Testimonials

Couldn't recommend Christine enough. She was so helpful and supportive. I will be passing on your name to all my family and friends who need a fantastic service like this.

Christine was such a wealth of knowledge and such a comfort during my pregnancy. Even though this was my third pregnancy, I still learned so much more than I had previously and went on to have a beautiful delivery. Unfortunately bubs had some complications after birth which landed us in the NICU at PCH, but Christine's support was second to none. It was so reassuring to have the consistency and care that she gave. I am also happy to report that with her advice, being unsuccessful in breastfeeding with my first two children, this bubby is over 9 months old and we're still going strong!
