This is a new service set up by Christine Fieldhouse (RN, RM, EM). I am an experienced midwife who originally completed both nurse and midwifery degree training in the UK. Having worked in the NHS public system, I acquired many skills that were transferable to my practice on arrival to Perth in 2012. Since this time, I have worked in the public system at Armadale Hospital as a rotational and an MGP midwife. Working particularly on MGP, and gaining experience and appreciation, continuity of care within maternity services was highlighted.

Working well collaboratively with other health professionals is another essential element to the provision of excellent maternity care, therefore as part of this service I will be working closely with GPs, specialist obstetricians and woman’s health physiotherapists to maximise services available to women.

I recently completed further education to become an endorsed midwife and lactation consultant building my knowledge and autonomy to deliver a high standard of service.
